A transparent look at the process
Beautifully made. Naturally individual.
3D printing builds an object one layer at a time. Fine lines, bottom-surface texture and support contact marks may remain visible. These are natural physical characteristics of the process, not signs of damage.
Layer lines
3D-printed objects are built as a sequence of thin layers. Fine horizontal bands may remain visible, especially across curved or angled surfaces. Their intensity can change with the shape, material, color and lighting.
Layer lines are a natural result of additive manufacturing and are not considered a defect.
Bottom-surface texture
The area that rests on the print bed can look and feel different from the visible outer surfaces. It may show a regular pattern, a flatter sheen, faint lines or a slightly more textured finish caused by contact with the build plate.
This texture is normally located on the underside or another less-visible contact surface.
Support contact marks
Overhangs and complex details may require temporary supports during printing. After those supports are removed, small contact dots, shallow uneven areas or hand-finished patches can remain on hidden, inner or downward-facing surfaces.
Support marks are a normal consequence of producing suspended and highly detailed forms.
Piece-to-piece variation
Minor differences in color, sheen, surface texture and finishing may occur between production batches. Two pieces of the same design can therefore look subtly different when viewed very closely.
These small variations give each printed object its own individual character.
Our finishing standard
Made with care, never made identical.
Each piece is inspected and finished before it leaves our studio. We remove supports and refine the surface while preserving the form and character of the printed object.
Natural print textures and minor variations are part of the manufacturing process and are not considered defects.
